Default Cracked another rib

Was sparring this 18 year old - holy shit I thot the 15 year olds were bad.

I held my own and trapped every kick he threw but stepped in while he was bringing his leg down - caught a back kick to the chest and heard the POP/CRACK.

Never thought I'd get used to cracking ribs, here we go again 8 more weeks of sleeping differently LOL

But it was worth it........LOL

Speaking from experience, the worst is not the 15yo that comes at you full speed and hell bent for leather, it's his mother who is sitting on the side lines watching you pummel his butt and you are really only going at it half assed. Those moms can get irate in a hurry. I finally quit sparring with some of the kids cuz there moms could get a grip. you have to defend yourself bro! Best defense is always to stop the fight as quickly as possible. Were you wearing sparring gear?

Yeah they are quick - my experience in my own dojo is to let them wear themselves out - experience shows I can block and throw an occasional technique in without getting overly winded.

This guy had me working for it though, he took a liver shot and I took a breast shot that cracked a rib....LOL

Slept funky last night, that's the worst part !!!

Give em hell Guy!!!

Naw, 18 year olds don't scare me....its the 24 to 35 year old crowd that is aggresive and knows there shit are the ones you have to fear.
Had one Sensei that use to "step back", cover up and let the young kids wear themselves out on his arms.....funny as hell to me. When it was my turn, I waited in the middle of the ring for him. I wanted to fight, not wear myself out on his arms....hehehe.

My brother was the Washington State Light-Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion for a few years, and I can say that I have never been kicked harder by anyone else than that shit-head! As to fists, my uncle Vetto held a Golden Gloves Championship for several years in Tejas, and when we'd spar, he'd rock me to the soles of my feet. Man he could hit.

Yeah, huge difference taking a hit or kick from the average joe vs one from somebody who has actually got skill...

I'm at the low end of the skill level in all this stuff, just trying to stay active & fit. Have been in way over my head a few times and knew it.
