Any problem shooting the 600 - 800 yard steel gongs out at NCW range these days?
Looking to do some shooting, late afternoon/early evening on Sunday 7/25. Forecast is 103 degrees! Am thinking there might be too much fire danger for the gongs... Any other conflicts? Race cars? Rabid race fans? Cowboy shooters? Anything? Yes, I've checked the NCW gun club web site, but I've been surprised there before to find something going on that hadn't been published. If it was just me, I wouldn't care, just turn around and go shoot elsewhere or go home, but I've got a buddy coming over from the wet side to shoot... Don't want to get there and find out we can't or shouldn't. Any input from you NCW Gun Club regulars??? Mike? Jim? Monte? Anyone? Thanks, Guy |

Guy,
I know its a little late and all... but the official policy now is that at least one person on the firing line has to have gone thru a basic orientation from Jim, myself or Jesse on some general common sense rules... what not to shoot at, when to stop shooting because of someone wandering in the impact area, clearing down-range firing lines and gate closure, clearing fuel sources around steel targets, etc. Hence the large sign on the 600yd firing line... That and technically the furthest target on 'our' property is the 600yd pits. We're working on making some existing arrangements concerning further distances more 'official' so as to protect all parties involved. Monte
