The conditions were very nice - sunny, mid-to-upper 80's, light wind (5-7mph later dying off to 1-3mph for the last relay @ 600). Due to the number and composition of the shooters we opted to fire the match using the string-fire provision in the NRA Int'l Fullbore rulebook. Given that this was the first time we've ran a multi-distance Prone match with all the associated shuffling of people and material between three yard lines and two sets of pits, I wasn't exactly disappointed with the small turnout. Everything went very smoothly, and the match was complete - even the awards and subsequent chit-chat - and I was headed out the gate @ 1330 (started around 0915).

Additional 'back story' for local flavor, etc.
I don't think anyone was taking the match *too* seriously... I was doing load testing with a new barrel and some B90VLDs. Jim loaded his stuff on the Dillon - mag length bullet with a crimp and ball powder - the night before. Jesse sighted in his gun literally about 20 minutes before the match started, and shot south-paw just to antagonize Jim... Some suspicious-looking scoring showed up on my target @ 500yds... ![]() All in all, it was fairly low-key and I think we all had a pretty good time.

Thanks for putting on the match Monte! Was a good time, I actually sort of enjoyed the multi distance shooting rather than just launching a bunch of rounds from the same place. Jim and I were running the same exact load (all loaded on the Dillon) and were able to chit chat and compare after we finished so that was interesting. Was also interesting to shoot an entire match weak-side....definitely a different bunch of muscles one uses and it took me until the 600 yard stuff to really feel comfortable.

I had initially agreed to shoot weak side as well, but after putting 30 rounds down in practice on Friday, I was so sore I backed out and shot lefty. My 500 yard string sucked, but I still had a good time. posted up a 6 on Monte's last 500 yard shot and counted the seconds for a call to the pits, Jesse and I were laughing our asses off on that one!
