Nice AR, are you going to put any other form of sight (optical) on it?

Well, I have tried a lot of optics on the carbines, ACOG, Tri-Power, Aimpoint, EoTech, IOR M2, more that I cant remember. I have considered a 1-4x, maybee a inexpensive Millet. I think I am going to stick with irons for a while, I have plans for a 18" scoped upper that will have optics.

I saw an ad for a new Leatherwood 1-4 that looked promising. I have the Millet and it works ok, just wish it had a BDC reticle for farther engagements. I need to get hold of bushnell and see if they will put thier DOA reticle in the 1.25-8 Elite 6500 would make a nice short/midrange optic without breaking the bank.

I like it krock. I'm slowly collecting parts for my next AR build. It will probably be somewhat like yours.

After working with the irons, I figured it was time to get some optics on it. I found a great deal on a used EoTech 512, mounted it on a LaRue ECOS-C which has a elevated mounting platform behind the EoTech, the plan is to mount a 2-3X magnifier.

I recently tossed on a Hensoldt 2X magnifier in a LaRue mount that co-witnesses with the EoTech. This Hensoldt is one of the "modified" versions with the reticle removed by LaRue, which used to be a eyepiece for a tank gun. The Hensholdt is a great inexpensive option for a magnifier, optics are clear and bright, although eye relief is a little lacking at around 1.5". All things considered, its a nice addition when a little extra magnification is needed, and easy to remove with the LaRue mount to go between 1X and 2X.

Other mods to the AR were a LaRue low profile gas block, and a 11" TROY FF rail to replace the GG&G 7" carbine unit in the pics above. I like the extra rail length, yet still keeping with the shorter 16" barrel.
